DELAWARE WATER GAP: Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area Temporarily Suspends Amenity Fees

Unnamed

Delaware Water Gap issued the following announcement.

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area announced the temporary suspension of amenity fees in accordance with direction from Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt issued on March 18.  Secretary Bernhardt directed all national parks to suspend the collection of most fees until further notice.

Amenity fees are usually charged seasonally at six locations throughout the park and are usually collected from mid-April through mid-October.  The temporary suspension of fee collection activities also applies to annual passes.

The park is asking the public to refrain from mailing in their 2020 Annual Pass applications and payments for the time being. New applications and payments received beyond April 15 will be returned to the sender.  Questions about mail-in annual pass sales can be directed to the Chief Ranger’s office at (570) 242-3432 or the Fee Office at (570) 828-2321

The NPS encourages people who choose to visit Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area during this pandemic to adhere to guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and state and local public health authorities to protect visitors and employees. As services are limited, the NPS urges visitors to continue to practice Leave No Trace principles, including pack-in and pack-out, to keep outdoor spaces safe and healthy.
